  1. I would like to propose the following extension (not too difficult, but
  2. I couldn't find all the places to modify):

  4. Allow Xmosaic to read symbolic links as URL's
  5.  
  6. That is, allow files like the following:

  8. mosaic-docs -> http://hoohoo.ncsa.uiuc.edu:80/mosaic-docs
  9. cave.html -> http://www.ncsa.uiuc.edu/evl/cave/cave.html

  11. This would simplify the storage of bookmarks and allow a user to
  12. organize their local hierarchy appropriate to the information resources
  13. that they had identified, e.g. collecting URL's about a specific subject
  14. or concept area.

  16. I did an initial hack to the code to allow the interpretation of
  17. symbolic links, but would like to see this extension permeated
  18. throughout the code (i.e. saving, etc..)
